Macbeth's Butchers & Game Dealers
Macbeth's is one of Scotland's premier butchers and game dealers, specialising in wholesale, retail and mail order beef, pork, lamb and game.
Macbeth's needed a great looking website that would allow them to sell their extensive range of products online. The site had to reflect Macbeth's natural and sustainable approach to farming, and the high quality of the meat they produce.
In collaboration with 27BITS, Metazoa was commissioned to produce the new site. Since its launch, online sales have increased by 40%.
In August 2009 the website was named winner of the Food, Soft Drinks and Alcoholic Drinks category in the inaugural Online Retail Awards, set up to celebrate a retailer’s presence online in an industry sector, through a great website experience for customers.
The judges said that Macbeths is: "arguably the first family-run traditional butcher to realise the huge potential of online retailing. The website lives up to the company’s excellent reputation".
The website was also highly commended in the specialist online retailer category, and was a finalist in the independent online retailer category.
Macbeth's website features an secure and easy to use online shop packed with loads of tasty products.
The site also has Informative content about the butchers and exclusive recipes from local chefs. The Coo's News blog keeps everyone up to date about day to day activities down on the farm.
All this information can be updated by Macbeth's using a web based content management system.
Macbeths praised the site's "really innovative design", and said that Metazoa was "'fantastic at solving problems".
