Explore Braunton

September 2008  |  www.explorebraunton.org

Explore Braunton is a community project, established by the North Devon AONB Partnership, aiming to bring to life a part of Devon with a rich biodiversity, stunning landscapes and a fascinating history. One of the aims of this groundbreaking project was to provide an online information archive resource. Metazoa and the web developers at 27BITS designed and built this resource.

The resulting website features embedded video, an interactive timeline and map, downloadable walk leaflets, a searchable image gallery and a huge amount of text and image content.

Katie James said: "Funding criteria and Devon County Council policies meant that the selection of our web designer had to be made through a rigorous interview process. Metazoa delivered an outstanding presentation despite that fact that, for geographical reasons, it was conducted over the phone. From Edinburgh, the concepts and proposals were demonstrated on the internet to the interview panel in Devon, who were impressed with Metazoa's obvious communication skills.

Professional throughout, Metazoa has interpreted our brief beautifully and produced a website of which we are extremely proud. We like to show off about every aspect of our website, from it's engaging design and intuitive layout to its functionality and ease of use, both for internet users and those who maintain the site using the content management system.

I would definitely recommend Metazoa to anyone needing a website. They have proved their competency at handling corporate sites, retail sites and, like ours, a community archive with a variety of multimedia features. I will certainly be approaching Metazoa for future web-design needs."
